Coffee is one of the most popular drinks in the world, and coffee beans are the key ingredient. But how does a coffee bean grow?

Coffee beans come from coffee plants, which are native to tropical countries like Ethiopia, Brazil, and Guatemala. The coffee plant is a small shrub that can grow up to 10 feet tall. Each coffee plant produces around 2,000 coffee beans per year.

The coffee beans are actually the seeds of the coffee plant. They are encased in a bright red fruit, called a coffee cherry. When the coffee cherries are ripe, they are picked by hand and then dried. Once they are dried, the coffee beans are removed from the cherries and roasted.

The roasting process is what gives coffee beans their distinctive flavor. Roasting coffee beans can be done at home, but most coffee beans are roasted commercially. After roasting, the coffee beans are ground up and brewed to create the perfect cup of coffee.
