Starbucks is one of the largest and most recognizable coffee brands in the world. Every year, the company purchases literally millions of kilograms of coffee beans in order to produce its signature beverages. But just how much coffee does Starbucks buy every year?

The truth is, no one knows for certain. It is difficult to estimate exactly how much coffee Starbucks uses, as the company does not make its purchasing information public. However, some knowledgeable figures estimate that Starbucks purchases around 500 million pounds of green coffee beans every year. This is a staggering amount, and it makes Starbucks one of the largest coffee buyers in the world.

This huge amount of coffee is sourced from more than 30 countries, including Ethiopia, Colombia and Mexico. While most of the coffee is grown on small farms, Starbucks also sources some of its coffee from large farms owned by conglomerates. According to some figures, Starbucks sources as much as 50% of its coffee beans from relatively small family-owned farms.

But why does Starbucks buy so much coffee? Simply put, it is because the company’s global market is enormous. Starbucks outlets can be found in literally thousands of cities, towns, and airports all around the world. Furthermore, Starbucks products can also be found in supermarkets and other retail outlets. All of this adds up to a whole lot of coffee.
