Does drinking coffee help with hair growth?

Coffee is one of the world’s favourite hot drinks. Millions of people drink coffee every day, and many believe that it has some health benefits. But can coffee help with hair growth too?

The answer is no – there is no evidence that drinking coffee has any effect on hair growth. Hair growth is determined by genetics, hormones and personal care – not diet. That said, there are some common misconceptions about coffee that could lead you to think otherwise. For example, some people believe that because caffeine is a stimulant, it can stimulate hair cell growth and increase hair growth. This is untrue – caffeine does not have any effect on hair growth at all.

Some hair-care products contain caffeine, which is thought to be beneficial for the hair. However, these products don’t actually contain caffeine. What they contain is a derivative of caffeine called caffeine silanol. Caffeine silanol is believed to penetrate the scalp and act as an antioxidant to protect the hair follicles and improve hair quality. However, there is still no evidence that it has any effect on hair growth.
