It has beneficial properties through a stimulant drug in the beans called caffeine, which acts as a stimulant on the central nervous system. The FDA recommends a maximum of 400 milligrams for adults which is about 4-5 cups of coffee or caffeinated beverages. As with any stimulating substance, drinking coffee is not suitable for children and adolescents, as their bodies are not yet capable of processing it. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that children consume no more than 100 milligrams of caffeine and that adolescents limit their intake to no more than 2 cups of coffee daily.\n<\/p>\n
