Coffee is one of the most popular beverages in the world. People all around the world consume coffee for its unique flavor, health benefits and complicated preparation process. Coffee is to many, an integral part of their daily lives. It is no surprise then why coffee consumption continues to rise, even surpassing soft drink consumption in the United States.<\/p>\n

RNA study, conducted by scientists at the University of South Australia, has indicated that coffee consumption can possibly help reduce the risk of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. This study has been supported by other organizations, such as the National Institute on Aging, noting that coffee consumption could reduce inflammation and oxidative stress, a major contributor to neurodegenerative diseases. Furthermore, coffee has shown to reduce the risk of Type 2 Diabetes and improve brain health & performance.<\/p>\n

\nCoffee can also provide a variety of health benefits such as containing nutrient-rich compounds, including antioxidants and polyphenols. Studies have found that consuming coffee can reduce the risk of liver cancer, kidney stones, certain types of cancer and heart health. Studies conducted by the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health have also indicated that long-term coffee consumption can lead to a lower risk of death due to several diseases.<\/p>\n

The health benefits of coffee consumption have been noted by several authoritative nutrition experts. Dr. Stephen Anton, professor of Exercise Science at the University of South Florida, mentions, “People should get most of their nutrients from food, not caffeine, but the occasional cup of coffee—especially the types highest in beneficial polyphenols—may be an exception. There is strong evidence to support a cup of coffee may confer a variety of health benefits, particularly in reducing the risks of neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, diabetes, and heart disease.”<\/p>\n
